The Internet of Things, Cisco to Make a Massive Impact Within Ten Years

Cisco is famous for its networking products and other things related to the internet world. It is based mainly in San Jose, California. When CEO John Chambers gave a message at the Mobile World Congress last week in Barcelona, he is betting big thing that the internet of everything within ten years will be ten times bigger than the internet in terms of impact. GSMA published earlier that there are already 195 million objects other than phone accessing the internet via SIM cards and the figure is growing rapidly.

Chambers also highlighted how fast the world is already moving towards internet interconnections by stating that there are about a thousand things connected to the Internet, and now there are ten billion; by the end of the decade there will be five hundred million.

A recent Wi-Fi Alliance Study that was published in January shows that the Wi-Fi connectivity has already a purchasing criterion for seventy seven percent of consumers when choosing new products or replacing existing devices for use around the home. The head of the digital incubation team at Kantar, the research and insights company, Mardien Drew said on how the subject has been promoted and showcased at the year’s MWC that she feels like their just experiencing the logical next step.
