This month, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) released their mPOS (Mobile Point of Sale), an actual hardware product innovation that will give them the edge in e-commerce and mobile purchasing field.

You simply attach the device to your  wi-fi enabled tablet or smartphone to convert it into an mPOS system.  wi-fi enabled tablet. Connect the mPOS using the headphone jack-this will allow users to pay via Visa and Mastercard credit cards. This will scan your credit card and with the use of a downloadable app, the scanned transaction info is transferred (thru wi-fi connections) to BPI's central server

At this time, the device is only available for iOS and Android gadgets. But Blackberry users should enjoy this soon as BPI is in the process of working it for the BB version.
