Dietary Fibre Technology

Just this February, one of the leading manufacturers of starches and sweeteners (Cargill) bought the technology for the extraction and purification of the dietary fibre and antioxidant source of wheat bran. It was acquired from Fugeia-a health and nutrition firm.

The purpose of this possession is to "continuously explore new markets and technologies in order to develop the full potential of its products" thus creating a new product line that will eventually be of use by the consumers.

I personally do hope that this strategy will work in the future.

As far as food technology is concerned, I'm excited to learn what technology has to offer to the food industry this year-a new handy food device, portion size microwaveable cereal bowls, etc.Hmm...we'll see
